SID: Hello. Sid Roth here. Welcome to my world where it’s naturally supernatural. My guest Janie Duvall is behind the scenes normally. She’s been my producer for how long, Janie?
JANIE: Almost, you reminded me, a quarter of a century.
SID: Isn’t that hard to believe? Where did the time go?
JANIE: I don’t know, but we’re living in the supernatural time zone and I’m getting younger everyday.
SID: I believe that. But Janie, I don’t know if you know this, and I don’t know if you know this. But when I became a new believer in the Messiah I was exposed to the Katherine Kuhlman Ministry, and I thought that was normal because the book, the Bible said that’s what we’re supposed to do. And so I started praying for the sick, and I prayed, Janie, for hundreds of people. No one, not one—
JANIE: Boy, you’re bold.
SID: Zero got healed. In fact, if you won’t tell anyone, I even prayed for someone to die in my healing line. And then worse than that, I went to some meetings by Kenneth Hagin, who is now in Heaven, and I learned about faith, and I was so excited. And I get home and a close family member develops a horrible disease. And I pray and I’m so sure this person is going to be healed, and they weren’t healed. I don’t even know why I persevered. But I guess there’s just something in my DNA that I persevered, and there’s something that God honors for perseverance. But I wish that what you’re learning now I have known. I didn’t have a mentor. I didn’t have people that understood what we understand today. But I can tell you this. God has honored the perseverance, and you are going to learn things in this particular supernatural show that perhaps you’ve never heard before.
JANIE: You’ve interviewed a lot of guests on healing. You’ve seen a lot of healings. You’ve heard every key from faith to worship, to the anointing. I want to know what’s the biggest key you’ve seen now for people to be healed?
SID: Hands down, I can tell you. I’m positive this is the most important thing, if you ask me to say one thing that I have learned about healing, you know the Amplified Bible in First Corinthians, the 14th Chapter, the first verse says, “Make this your great quest. Make this your great purpose in life. Make this the most important thing.” And just before that it explains love. But it’s not love like most people think, Janie. It’s not Hollywood love. It’s not even love for a mother for a child, which is a great love, but it’s not that. It’s not even love of a wife for a husband. It is agape, which is the love of God. And this is what our Messiah said, that people, “This is my commandment that you must,” I think commandment is a pretty strong word from the Messiah.
JANIE: Absolutely.
SID: “This is my commandment that you must love one another.” And then he goes so far as to say what kind of love. He says, “As I have loved you.” Well you know what he did for us. Now that’s why we’re to make this our great quest, our great purpose in life. And this agape love, you can’t understand because it’s God’s love, which is a higher level than human love, and we compare the human love to God’s love, and you can’t. You only need revelation. That’s the only way you’re going to know God’s love. And the revelation is in 1st Corinthians, Chapter 13, and it describes love. It says, I believe it’s verse 4 through 8, it says, and you know what I do, Janie? I personalize it. I think it’s so important to personalize it.
JANIE: It is important.
SID: Rather than it says, “Love is patient,” this is what I do. I say I am patient. Oy vey, sometimes I mess up royally, but I’m getting better. I am patient. But you know what? You can be patient, but can you be patient and kind? That’s the God kind of love. I am patient and I am kind. I am not jealous or boastful, or proud, or rude. I do not demand my own way. I am not irritable and I keep no record of wrongs. Wow. Keep no record of wrongs. That sounds like God. But after all, it’s God’s love, you know. It gets more interesting here. I do not rejoice about injustice, but rejoice whenever the truth wins out. But here’s the best part. Remember the perseverance I was talking about?
JANIE: Right.
SID: That is God’s love. I never give up. You hear that? You hear that, devil? I never give up. No matter what you throw my way I never give up, because I know who wins and I’m in Him. But God’s love never gives up. I never give up. Why? Because I have God’s love in me. Why? Because you have God’s love in you. How can I say that? Romans 5:5 says, “The love of God has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit.” So everyone that’s born from above has this supernatural love within them. But it’s fruit and it must be developed. And I can tell you that I tried at least once a day to read this chapter, 1st Corinthians 13, verse 4 through 8, in this personal way. Now Janie, you are a musician and you come from a musical family. Tell me just briefly the study you’ve done in music.
JANIE: I went to the Aaron Copeland School of Music in New York City and I studied composition, orchestration.
