Our Guest Clarice Fluitt
KYLE: Welcome to “Something More”. I’m your host, Kyle Winkler. My guest today has been used powerfully in the marketplace and ministry. She has spoken alongside some of the greatest names in business, but even more, she has ministered alongside of some of the greatest miracles in ministry, some ridiculous miracles, as she would put it. But tragedy tried to thwart it all until she learned how to apply the power of God’s Word in her life to completely change her situations and she’s here with us today to teach you the same so that you are never the same. Please welcome my guest, Dr. Clarice Fluitt. Welcome.
CLARICE: Thank you Kyle. It’s a joy to be with you in this wonderful atmosphere here.
KYLE: As I said, you’re a powerful minister and as most people who have been mightily used or are mightily used by God, when you look back on your childhood, you can see how God’s hand was all over it, preparing you for this destiny. There was something that happened at five years old with you. Will you tell us about that?
CLARICE: Oh, I would be so happy to be able to share that. I was five years old and my father was in the army at World War II and he was in Germany and my mother was not able to be with me and I was living with my grandparents and my grandfather was a commercial fisherman. We lived on the river, the beautiful Ouachita River, and one day he came in and he said to my grandmother who I’d never seen smile, he said, “Ruth, the rodeo is coming to town”. Well of course, we didn’t have a radio or know what a rodeo or anything was, but I knew it made her smile. And the next day I was playing outside and making things with dirt, and I had little gumballs I was playing with, and I was nasty and dirty myself, and I heard music and I had never heard music before. And then I look at the sky, it was so gorgeous and so beautiful, and I had never heard the name of Jesus. I’d never been to church. The family was not given t—my mother was a Christian, but she wasn’t living with me. She couldn’t get there. It was just—when there’s a war going on, things happen.
KYLE: Yeah.
CLARICE: And so this beautiful music started playing and a golden staircase came down from out of the heavens—
KYLE: As you’re playing with the dirt!
CLARICE: –while I’m playing with the dirt. It’s the most amazing thing to my five year old mind, I said, “That must be the rodeo. That’s why grandmother was laughing.” Isn’t that great? And so this man comes down, He’s in a white robe with a golden belt. It was Christ, but I had no idea because I didn’t know what it was. And I had been carefully warned, “Don’t talk to strangers,” because I was a little kid. And He walks down this golden staircase, this beautiful music is playing, and this great, gorgeous sky and He walks on top of the Ouachita River, on the water. And I’d never seen anything like that. He came up the boat dock to where I was and He squatted down next to me and He says, “What are you doing?” And I said, “Well, I’m making stuff with dirt!” And He said, “I’ve done that before.”
KYLE: Ooh. Wow.
CLARICE: And I said, “Well Mister, how did you come down the stairs? Are you with the rodeo?” And He laughed and He says, “No, I’m here for a round-up.” He said, “Do you see that golden staircase?” and I said, “Yes Sir.” He said, “Someday you’ll bring millions of people up that staircase.”
KYLE: Wow. Amen.
