Sid: I have on the telephone another Jewish man red hot believer for the Messiah, Barry Feinman, Executive Director for Jezreel International. And as I have been explaining all this week, I am so excited to be part of supporting a humanitarian organization that helps starving, literally, hungry literally. You were saying earlier this week there are people that were part of the holocaust that came to Israel with the clothing on their back and today they’re in poverty in Israel Barry.
Barry: Yes Sid, it’s very heart breaking to see what’s happening. That’s one of the things that we want to begin really focusing on, is what we can do. I am going to be spending much more time over in Israel. I just want to find out what is it we can do to begin to really really being effectively to help these Holocaust survivors and Holocaust refugees.
Sid: Well, one of the things that is so clear is that by doing this humanitarian aid, and if that’s all you did “it would have been enough” as we say at Passover; but acts of kindness opened the door for people to want to know why you’re being so kind. And it’s because you know the kindest Jew that ever lived, Yeshua the Messiah. So tell me a bit about what’s going on in Israel right now as far as, and most people aren’t aware of it, but there seems to be an amazing amount of activity against Jewish believers in Jesus; explain that.
Barry: Well Sid right now it’s like a phenomena in reality, it’s very interesting that someone just told me a Jewish believer wanted to go on a trip to Israel with a regular Jewish organization, and on the questionnaire it asks you on that questionnaire if you were a believer in Jesus or if you had anything to do with Messianic Jews. And if you checked that box you could not go. Now you could be an atheist, you could be a Buddhist, you could be agnostic, it makes no difference you could go, but the moment you mention the name of Yeshua, the moment you mention that name you are no longer included or invited. Which tells me that if you’re a Buddhist Jew, and there’s plenty of Buddhist Jews they’re called Buddjews, and there’s plenty of Atheist Jews, and there’s plenty that are simply agnostic and they’re Jewish by name only. You know it interesting that they can not only become citizens but they could have went on this trip. And this gal who is a believer couldn’t, which I told her straight out as she felt bad about it, I said, “It just shows you one thing, it shows you the power that’s in that Name, simply it shows you the power that in that Name. “ And so my feeling is the enemy, the devil right now is stepping everything because time is running short. As so many Jewish people are coming to the Lord, I mean there’s I wouldn’t call it a massive revival yet but there is, we are at the beginning of something very big. For the last few years so many native born, they’re called Sabras, Israelis have come to know the Messiah. And it’s becoming alarming to the Israeli government, it’s becoming alarming to, I believe to the Orthodox Jewish…
Sid: Well listen some of these really Orthodox Jews are resorting to violence against Messianic Jews.
Barry: Unfortunately that’s true, they just don’t – unfortunately they are blinded and until God opens up their eyes like you and I are both Jews we didn’t wake up one morning the two of us and say “I think we’ll believe in Jesus this morning.” I mean it’s not by might, it’s not by power but its God has to open up their eyes in order for them to see.
Sid: But this persecution is increasing.
Barry: Yes.
Sid: And I believe the reason it’s increasing is the devil is more alert to what’s going on than God’s people. I believe that we’re coming into a time of mercy on Zion in which God’s going to do for Jewish people what He’s done for Barry Feinman and what he has done for me. And I don’t believe it’s an accident that the persecution is being turned up right now.
Barry: Your right, but at the same time as the persecution is stepping up there’s more Jewish people coming in. You know now there’s like 30 outlets that are actually offering humanitarian aid to the hurting and it’s all come out of these Messianic Congregations and works. They are literally using supplies, acts of kindness open eyes of blindness and people are asking why are you doing this? And the reality of it is people have come in to know the Lord, I see testimonies all the time.
Sid: Listen, I was recently overwhelmed of you and your wife Toni. Recently went on a trip to Israel and tell me about a few of the miracles that happened.
Barry: Okay this was awesome we were with some friends of our that we’re looking to buy a house in Israel and so we were in this home. The husband was as he was a young guy; he might be thirty-eight or forty and he’s showing us around the house and he’s kind of dragging his leg a little bit you know limping a little be while he’s holding his back with his right hand. And as he’s walking through the house, this is the thought that came to me, “Oh I would love to be able to lay hands on him and see him get healed right here.” And that just kind of just flew through my mind, it was just a thought that came. Then a little bit later on we’re outside with his wife and we’re talking, there’s about five of us. And my wife Toni she said, “What happened to your husband, Misraga? And she said, “Well, and she shared with us a horrible car accident he got in many years ago that left his back in a difficult place, and she was sharing with us. Tony said, “Do you think he’d mind if we prayed for him?” And she goes “No, I think he’d like that.” So all of us walked back into the house and husband’s sitting there and she said, “That’s Misraga.” And I said, “We are Yehudim Mishachim, we are Jews that believe in the Messiah. We said, “We believe that Yeshua is the Messiah.” And he said to me, “Oh, yes!” I saw you on television recently and recently; well back a few months ago they did this documentary on a Messianic Jewish family on the major TV station in Israel and he happened to catch it. And anyway so, he knew what we believed, and I said, “In our congregation,” I was telling him that at that time I was a Messianic Leader of a congregation and I told him about some of the miracles that we had seen and experienced in our congregation how God touched people and He can touch you right here, right now, do you believe that? And he says, “Yes.” And I said, “Okay can we pray for you?” He said, “Please.” So we anointed him, we all stood around him, we laid our hands on him and I wasn’t even quite finished with the prayer yet and he goes I feel all kinds of heat in my back right now.” And I said, “Good” and the next thing he goes, “You know something, my God, my God he starts leaning forward; he goes oh My God he said, “The pain,” and he starts tell me how the pain is gone.” And I said, “That’s Misraga that’s God and all of a sudden we started laughing because we’re just enjoying it.” And he goes, “Please don’t laugh this is serious, this has never happened to me before, I have to call my mother.” Just like that, he’s a married man with children and the first person he wants to call is his mother, it was so funny. It was so awesome because God met him, and He healed his back right there in his apartment in the house that we were looking at. And his wife came in and she was already there she was standing next to him, and she began crying and he had tears in his eyes. And it was so, I mean the hunger on they have no predisposition to the gospel like America does. The Jewish people are very, very open and especially when signs and wonders are following us, and that’s the way its suppose to be. But wouldn’t you know we came back the next day and asked him how he was doing and he said, “His back is so much better,” he’s thanking us again and he goes, “You know something oh forget about me, he said, “Would you do something for me?” I said, “What is it?” He said, “My sister ever since my father died, my sister has been in such deep depression, she’s on all kinds of medications, she’s just terrible; would you pray for her?” And we said, “We’d love to,” So we all got in our cars and about five minutes drove over to her house, walked into the mothers house, they hugged us, as if we’d known them for years, we’d never met them in our lives, they were so warm to us and introduced us to the sister. And then my wife kind of walked over and just started sharing with her and talking with her told everybody let’s just stay out here, let Toni minister to her and when she’s ready she’ll call us and we’ll all pray. So about twenty minutes or so goes by and Toni goes, everyone come on in she’s open for prayer and so we all went around her and prayed in the name of Yeshua and she also prayed that if Yeshua is the Messiah she wants to know. And as we were praying for her she starts bawling, and all of a sudden she goes from bawling to a smile on her face, to laughing. Her mother sat there in shock and her mother came over to me and said, “My daughter hasn’t smiled like this, I can’t even remember how long it’s been, “Thank you, thank you, thank you.” And she was thanking us and hugging us and the daughter had a big smile on her face and just it was so like the whole trip to Israel if that was the moment that was worth the entire trip right there.
Sid: Can you imagine how this is going to be replicating by Messianic Congregations or Jewish believers in Jesus in Israel?
Barry: Oh my, it’s amazing what will happen. This is what they’re doing many of them, and a lot of their supplies have been coming through us. I just had one, you know Stan Burnham who began Seed of Abraham, was telling me that he’s one of them giving out he’s telling me about the stuff he got and he had no idea it came from us. So I told him, “Did you get this, this, this?” He said, “Yes, yes. How did you know?” Because it came from us and he’s using it very effectively every week. So many people are standing in line in front of this congregation to get just the very basics of life, clothing, and personnel care and things like that.
