Sid: The One New Man’s move of God’s Spirit in the last days revelation to it is involved in a book that I’m making available this week it’s called “The Secret Place” by Dr. Dale Fife. On January 1st 1999 Dale was desperate he had been very successful in ministry in denominational church and then a church with 3 churches coming together. It interdenominational, inner racial church and he had even started something called “The Barn” for the kids that would not be acceptable in most mainline churches and God so blessed it. And he knew of the ways of the Spirit and he knew God but he was stuck he was desperate like some of you are stuck, like some of you are desperate right now. And on January 1st 1999 he went into his study, he locked the door, he had his prayer journal there. And he was so desperate for God and a prayer came out of his spirit that was not premeditated and what was that prayer Dale?”
Dale: Well that prayer was “Lord I want to be like Enoch, I want to walk with You and be Your friend.” And the Lord so powerfully answered that prayer I immediately heard the voice of the Spirit say “Son, I hear your cry and I have come to answer you prayer and I’m going to walk with you in the days to come when I walked with Enoch.”
Sid: Now what does it mean to walk with Enoch from the Bible?
Dale: Well if we go back in the scriptures the amazing thing that I am aware of Sid is this, that in the beginning when God created man in the Garden of Eden God created Adam and Eve so that He would have companionship, so that He would have someone to talk to, so to speak, they were created to have fellowship with God. And when I prayed this prayer I didn’t really know a lot about Enoch accept that he walked with God the Bible doesn’t really say very much about Enoch. There are a few verses in Genesis and then in Hebrews we read that he was taken away by faith he was taken away so that he did not see death and not found because God had taken him.
Sid: Now that’s my way of dying.
Dale: Yeah.
Sid: I like that (Laughing).
Dale: For before he was taken he had this testimony “That he pleased God.”
Sid: Hmm.
Dale: And you know there’s been a lot of emphasis and I just so love what Tommy Tenney has written about being a God chaser, but there was a cry in my heart that went beyond chasing God. I was saying “God I want to do more than chase You I want to please You. Enoch was a God pleaser not a God chaser he didn’t have to chase God he walked with God. And so when I prayed this prayer God so powerfully answered me that in the days to follow I would go into my study and just sit in God’s presence for hours at a time.
Sid: I mean you would sit in your study for 8 hours at a time, but there’s something that you said in your book that I’ve heard many many times but it just kind of struck home with me. And you made this statement and I wrote it down “That I had been so busy with thee ministry I had neglected the Lord of the ministry”.
Dale: Yes.
Sid: Now all of us feel we want to do things for God and we feel our purpose is to do things for God but that’s not what God’s revealing to you our purpose is. What is God showing you our… and listen now just because I’m in full time ministry and Dale’s in full time ministry doesn’t mean that it’s any different for someone that has a secular job. Or not in quote ministry, because the truth is that’s out of the pit of hell we’re all in ministry. But my problem has been Dale that I’ve been doing things for God not realizing there’s a higher priority explain that higher priority than doing things for God.
Dale: Absolutely, I remember one particular day as I was taking an Enoch walk with the Lord that the Lord came to me powerfully and He said “I want to teach you somethings, I want to share with you somethings that I shared with Enoch.” And immediately my spirit leaped and I said “Lord, you’re going to share with me some of the things that you spoke to Enoch?” And I was you know just totally riveted to what I was hearing the Lord say.
Sid: By the way when He talks to you is it just an impression, is it almost like a voice, how is it normally?
Dale: Well normally I see. My eyes are wide open I’m sitting in my prayer chair but I’m seeing in the spiritual realm like a open vision where I’m actually watching, I’m walking with the Lord…
Sid: Is this almost like what they call in the Old Covenant a Seer?
Dale: Absolutely, in fact I think that is probably one of the keys to hearing the voice of God. It’s like Habakkuk said “I’ve taken my position on the wall and I will watch to see what God will say.” And I’ve discovered truly in my own life and for me I’m a prophetic seer and a scribe in a sense because I see what God is saying in vision and in dream. And as I see I’m recording, it’s almost like I’m in the vision and I’m recording what I’m seeing and what I’m hearing then in by the voice of the Spirit. The Lord…
Sid: I refer to myself as a good Jewish secretary when I have words of knowledge. Well, you are good believing secretary.
Dale: Absolutely, in fact Jesus said “I have given you prophets, scribes and teachers,” and I believe that my call right now that my commission from the Lord is to be a prophetic scribe. There are things that God wants to say to His people that need to be written and released into the Body of Christ. I’ve discovered after several years of Enoch walks with the Lord that the things that God speaks to me in the secret place are so powerful and moving that when I share them with other people I can literally see the anointing of God come upon them because it’s life giving.
Sid: Well that’s what I felt when I started reading your book but you were telling me a story to nail down this business of what is our purpose.
Dale: Yes, the Lord had come to me one day and said “I’m going to talk to you about this, I’m going to share with you some things that I shared with Enoch about.” And I really didn’t know much about Enoch so I began to look at the scripture and see what the scripture was saying. I discovered something that literally blew my mind Sid. I discovered something that kind of really made me to understand how Enoch could experience this intimacy with God. Because the first secret place was the Garden of Eden, man made… was made to have intimacy with God. And when Enoch was born his great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was still alive who was Adam.
Sid: You know I read that in your book and I never thought about that before. And so in affect he could ask granddad, great, great, great granddad about what was going on in the garden.
Dale: Yes! I had this vision one day that little Enoch sitting on Adam’s knee and Adam saying “Grandson I want to tell you how your Grandmother and I walked with God in the Garden.” And as little Enoch heard these words from his grandfather he in his simple child-like faith he probably and this was an assumption but I can truly believe this happened he said “Well, Grandpa if you can walk with God so can I.” And I believe that with the concept and reality of walking with God was instilled in Enoch by his grandfather.
Sid: And Dale if you can walk with God so can I!
Dale: Hmm.
Sid: And Mishpochah if I can walk with God so can you, go ahead. That was a little God commercial.
Dale: So I discovered that first of all Enoch who learned, I believe he learned intimacy with God from Adam his grandfather. And even his name and I know that you’re aware Sid that names are given in the Old Testament to imply destiny. And Enoch’s name means one who is instructed, one who is initiated, one who is consecrated, even one who is experienced. And that just so gripped me that even the man’s name talks about intimacy with God, experience with God. So the Lord said to me one day “I want to talk to you about life and purpose and this is what I talked to Enoch about.” He said that Enoch, He said “I told Enoch that life itself is purpose, I am life, I’ve come that you might have life, I am the Resurrection and the life and just as the tree of life was in the garden in the center of the Garden so I need to be in the center of your life; and if you will come daily and take of Me the tree of life you will have life in you.” And the Lord said to me very clearly one day He said “Most people confuse purpose and assignment and they think that they’re assignment in life is their purpose.” And these words are so real to me it was like I could hear the Lord saying them to me again. He said “When I created Adam I did not make him because I needed a gardener.”
Sid: Hmm.
Dale:” I made him because I wanted to walk with him and commune with him. And He said “Your purpose in life is intimacy with Me.”
Sid: Say that again.
Dale: Your purpose in life is intimacy with God, is intimacy with Him. That’s why every human being was made was to have intimacy with God. Adam…
Sid: You know what if most… if all Christians had intimacy with God all Jews would be saved and Jesus would be here.
Dale: Amen.
Sid: I said enough we’re out of time.
