Our Guest Jim Staley
Sid: My guest Jim Staley is red hot for the Messiah; he has one of the fastest growing ministries in the country. Jim before we went on the air… I’ll tell you this on the air the principles from understanding the Hebrew roots will make a day and light difference in every relationship that people have from marriage to business to friends, everything. I mean it’s so supernatural but I’ve asked you this before but I want to ask you this question again; why in your opinion did the miraculous, the gifts of the Spirit explode in your life and in the life of the people that you teach the Hebrew Roots of the faith and about Israel; why did it explode in their lives?
Jim: Because there’s ancient principles that are found in God’s word that it’s very simple this why He calls us children of God and not adults of God. He gives us very simple principles; we want to make it very complicated but He stands before His people. It’s a great example that I love to give with ancient Israelites is standing before the mountain of God, Mount Sinai. God comes before them and says “Guys here’s the deal, if you keep My commandments you’ll be blessed. If you don’t you’re not going to be blessed; so it’s your choice I’m going to love you either way but if you want your blessing you’ve got to kind of do what I want you to do because I created all of this stuff, and I know what works the best.” So that principle has never ended because it started in the garden said the same thing “Hey if you want the best for you eat from this tree; if you don’t then eat from that tree; I’m going to love you either way but it’s your call.” That same principle that ancient principle is the same do things… do Bible things in Bible ways and do what God says and we’ll be supernaturally blessed. So I did not know that there were things in my life that I was out of alignment with God and so I like to look at it as pipes in a house. If your pipes are clogged you’re not going to get a whole lot of water coming out of the pipes and it will be terrible to take a shower with just drips of water coming out. And I believe for the most part in Christianity we’ve been all kind of underneath the spout waiting for just drips of water to come out, when I believe the water is full on at the house; it’s just that our pipes are clogged. And those pipes I call it an audit or a church audit or a self-audit; we’ve got to look at our life like the Israelites did because that’s our pattern. That was the disciples pattern and say “What is in my life that is offending God and I don’t even know I’m out of alignment and like a tire out of alignment we’ll wear faster and the car won’t go straight.” But when we make the alignment we take the spiritual principles and we audit our life and this is what this DVD series really does for relationships. People walk away and they go I never knew that I was out of alignment in that area; they repent and they fix it and God supernaturally breaks through a little more water and the next thing you know their garden starts growing. And that’s what this whole thing is all about; discovering what those principles are, auditing our relationships for success and on the other side when you institute those relationship principles you will become successful.
Sid: Okay, let’s take a specific person. Tell me about the nephew of one of the champion fighters in the world Mohammed Ali. What happened to him? What difference did it make in his life?
Jim: You know even Ali is a good friend of mine and he attends our congregation and he’s the nephew of Mohammed Ali like you said. And he was a professional boxer himself and just like his uncle and fought and broke all kinds of records just like his uncle. But he had that up and down life of his mother was a Christian; his father was a Muslim; his father was the brother of Mohammed Ali. Very confusing growing up if you could image how you live a life spiritually with those kinds of spiritual things happen in your house. Being a professional boxer he really struggled with all the fame and the glory and all the women and the money and he never could get his life together. But it was when God showed him to get to the Christian roots to get back to his roots; getting back to his roots of Christianity and getting into the Hebrew mindset that he got turned on to our ministry and it wasn’t too long after that that God began to challenge him big time into making some changes in his life. He didn’t even know that he was out of alignment until he came into covenant with the Mishpochah, a family as you say, a church family that understood these principles and said “These are the principles that are out of alignment in your life.” And when he made alignment in those principles God gave him supernatural favor and he’s tremendously articulate and has a huge heart for witnessing to the Muslim people.
Sid: Okay, I am amazed at the wisdom that you brought forth from the studying the scriptures from a Hebraic understanding that help any relationship walk under the same favor Jewish people historically walked under that Christians have historically have not walked under in every arena of life of relationships. But let’s talk a little bit about marriage; tell me some of the revelation you found that not only saved your own marriage but has saved large numbers of people’s marriages.
Jim: Yeah, listen one of the most amazing things that God has shown me is that because… listen I never went to college; I’m just a regular Joe, I’m not a televangelist. I’m just a guy that is just trying to figure this out just like everybody else. But one of the things that turns me on more than anything is science; I love science and science is all through the Bible. And when you take science and you connect it with the original Hebrew language out comes incredible supernatural things. For instance, one of the things that I discovered through the Hebrew language that is totally related to marriage is in the Holy of Holies, okay. Which we know that the temple which is we’re called the temple of the Holy Spirit so there’s a connection in the language there that God’s trying to tell us something. “Go back and look at the temple.” He’s not just using these expressions as just for fun, He’s trying to give us clues that there is relationship rules and instructions; there’s quote Torah built into the temples.” And so I went back to the temple; started looking at all of the words and I discovered something amazing. First of all, the entire temple itself is of literally a man; all of the Hebrew words the gate that walks in. The posts that are hang the door as you walk in the east gate those; that word for post is the word shoulder in Hebrew. So the very shoulders of God are literally found in the gate; but when you get into the Holy of Holies, this is so amazing; there is the Arc of Covenant and everyone’s familiar with the Arc of the Covenant but very few people know that the Arc of the Covenant is split into 2 pieces. There’s the actual Arc on the bottom; the big chest that is found inside of it. The rod that bloomed, the almond rod and the jar of manna and the commandments. But on top of that is the mercy seat that’s separate that it has the cherubim that are on top of it. Well those 2 words are completely different Hebrew words and the mercy seat in Hebrew is feminine; it’s a feminine word. And in the Arc of Covenant it’s a male word and it show us that the 2 work in conjunction together. He did not have to make them 2 different parts He made them 2 on purpose and he even put them in order on which one goes on top to show us how they complement one another. Because inside the arc of the covenant which represents the husband or the male is found the 10 Commandments. So the rule the husband should know the word of God. Number 2 he should have access the spiritual part of the word of God which is the daily rhema word of God; the spiritual gifts. And he should also have the rod of Aaron that blooms and that represents spiritual authority that’s handled beautifully because it’s flowered. But on top of that he not just… He’s the foundation because he’s on the bottom. But what’s on top is the mercy seat which is the wife; and how many families know this that the husband is the lawgiver; he’s the one that brings down the commandments but it’s the wife that always says “Honey, you know you need to be a little bit nicer to the children or whatever.” And that’s because it says in the Bible remember the scripture it says “Mercy triumphs over judgment.” That is an illusion to the Arc of the Covenant; where mercy is the most powerful attribute in that the Arc of the Covenant in the Holy of Holies. And that’s just one example now; here’s something amazing alongside of that; speaking of the word side. The word side when it says the size of the walls of the Arc of the Covenant; I looked up that Hebrew word and would you believe that that word side of the Arc of the Covenant is the exact same Hebrew word in the garden of Eden where God says “I’m going to take the rib of Adam and I’m going to make Eve.” And so literally the Arc of the Covenant is the rib cage of God; and what’s inside the rib cage is nothing less than the heart of God. Now why is that so important, catch this this is amazing; what is the heart of God? The heart of God according to the ancient Hebrew scriptures the very first letter in our Bible is the letter bet; the very last letter in the Torah the book of Deuteronomy is a lamed. When you put the lamed and the bet together which is the entire Jewish community you know was all about; was the Torah. It was the instructions of God; the word of God that became flesh. The lev and the bet together is lev and that word in Hebrew is heart. The very heart of God was the commandments of God because it brought life and that’s what He put inside His chest or the rib cage. So every man or husband; this why the Jewish community is so powerful and successful is because many of them grow up and what are they learning? The heart of God, look at David who is the man after God’s own heart. And what did he say more than anything in the longest chapter in the Bible 176 verses you won’t find a verse where he doesn’t say “I love the commandments of God; I love to learn His precepts and His rule book.” Why? That’s how you learn the heart of God; if you want the power of God you got to know His heart and it starts in the Arc of the Covenant and every relationship is connected to it.
Sid: Tell me of everything you’ve learned what would you say is the most important thing in communication between husbands and wives?
Jim: Well there’s 10 they can find in the 10 rules but if I tend to pick out 1 I would probably have to come up with this is that “Husbands number 1 mistake that they make is they don’t listen; we do not know how to listen.” We’re really good at talking and we’re really good at defending ourselves and we’re really good at criticizing and judging, but we’re not very good at listening. And one of the ancient principles is listen until they’re finished and I pull out the scripture in the book of Job, it’s my favorite scripture in the entire Bible on the subject where Job has this attitude and God is a bit offended at Job. So God comes to Job and Job begins to defend himself, this is a perfect marriage relationship in as a matter of fact any relationship this is how it goes. This is one person goes to the other person expresses their feelings of hurt and the one that’s being dumped on gets offended at the persons emotions. Well, here’s a classic example Job gets offended that God’s offended and pretty soon Job catches on that he’s the clay and not the potter and he does a miraculous thing that changes his life, he shuts his mouth.
Sid: Whoop’s we’re out of time; we both have to shut our mouths.
