Sid: You know I say One New Man often, every time you hear me on the radio I talk about One New Man which of course comes from the book of Ephesians, in which Paul said that “The Messiah came to break down the middle wall of separation between Jews and Gentiles to make One New Man in Messiah Yeshua.” A lot of people don’t understand this One New Man concept. Of course I’ve written a book on it, I believe I’ll be writing other books on this. Let me tell you in a nut shell what it is. At the first coming of Jesus where did it take place, Israel? What group of people were the first that He went to? The Jewish people. What happened as a result of that? The gospel was spread all over the earth to all people.
Now I believe when the Messiah returns He’s going to do the same thing almost in reverse. That’s why Romans 11:11 it says “Salvation has come to the Gentile to provoke the Jew to jealousy.” So the Gentile Christian’s job at the wrap up is actually the same job that the Jewish people had at the first coming of Jesus. The Jewish peoples job take the gospel to the Gentile, the Gentile’s job take the gospel to the Jews.
We’re coming into a stage in history in which there’ll be a total division, a total separation between the real Christians and the false Christians. I personally believe that the issue will be Israel. It is so important to God and it’s so important to the devil that will be the dividing line. There will be more craziness than you ever thought possible. In peoples doctrines, and people that are not Jewish calling themselves Jewish in replacement type of doctrines where the church replaces Israel. All this is in there for confusion but it’s so simple you really need help to get confused.
So this is why God is raising up this One New Man concept. What is it? First of all the Gentile believer is to provoke the Jew to jealousy. It says that, believers are to provoke the Jew to jealousy. Well how are you going to provoke a Jewish person to jealousy at your church? By having an Easter or Christmas service, or by having a Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) celebration in which there is such an outpouring of God’s Spirit that people are healed before your very eyes. Miracles take place, lives are transformed, marriages are restored, children, strange children get off of drugs and come back to their family. You invite your Jewish friend to your church for a Sukkot, or a Shavuot (Pentecost) celebration and the Jewish person says “Boy I never saw this way in my synagogue. If I had seen it this way in my synagogue I probably would have stayed.” You’re provoking Jews to jealousy, I mean Jesus said “I pray that they [Jews and Gentiles] might be one so the world will believe.”
So the whole concept is not under legalism, but under a spirit of blessing, a spirit of just absolute expectancy that God is going to show up. As the church starts celebrating, not just Biblical festivals, not just Jewish festivals, but God calls them His festivals, God festivals. God shows up and miracles start taking place, Jewish people will be provoked to jealousy and they’ll start coming in. I mean it’s so simple, but if it was just observing the Biblical festivals then every Messianic Jewish synagogue in the world would be a glorious congregation and there’d be tens of thousands in every one of them. The truth is there’s not so there’s some missing ingredients. I believe just as much as the restoration of the God festivals for the church not under an obligation, not having anything with righteousness or salvation, but pure blessing and excitement over the living God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. That as these festivals are restored so will the glory of God be restored. It will not be a cookie cutter, you won’t go to one congregation in one part of the world that’s a One New Man congregation, and another one in another part of the world and they’ll be all different.
Because you see God knows the needs of His people. Each one is going to surrender to God, for instance, I’m doing that. I’m going to demonstrate right now exactly what I’m saying should happen in every One New Man congregation in the world. That is, surrender your agenda to God’s agenda. You may have a wonderful agenda, but God’s agenda is better. After all isn’t that the difference between religion and a vital personal intimate relationship with the living God? Religion makes everything cookie cutter, I mean you don’t want change, you don’t want the unexpected, you say you want change, you say you want the unexpected, but the truth is you’re comfortable with everything being “que sera sera.” Well no I’m not comfortable and there’s a whole group of believers that are uncomfortable, and there’s going to be some young people coming into the Lord in droves that are going to be satisfied with the status quo. I’ll tell you what our God isn’t satisfied, and as long as I read the Bible and I see what happened with the first believers, I’m not satisfied until I see at least that, I say at least that. It’s coming and it’s coming very very quickly.
So the One New Man is making the head the head, not the tail. You say He’s the head with your mouth, but if you’re following a set agenda that even God Himself can’t interrupt what do you expect?
I want to talk to you this week about my testimony book, my testimony and what happened to me after coming from a traditional Jewish background became a believer in Jesus. I wrote a song as a young man, the song was “There Must Be Something More.” The words go like this:
Because I work eat sleep, and that’s the way it goes, because I work eat sleep and that’s the way it goes. There MUST be something more.
Anyone that’s an artist, or a musician, or a singer, or even a preacher knows that what we preach, what we create is what’s going on in our own heart. Why do you think I interview so many people that have great intimacy with God? My heart is reaching out for greater intimacy with God. Why do you think I interview people that walk in tremendous miracles. My heart is reaching out for wanting to walk in these miracles. Why do you think I interview people that can read peoples mail and move in the prophetic, and I have to tell you I am dissatisfied with a degree of the prophetic that I see. Most prophetic I see is pathetic compared to the prophetic that I read in the Bible. I’m not going to be satisfied until I see people where their words do not fall to the ground where they do read peoples mail. Where they do impact the unsaved, where they do encourage the believers. So I’m going to be interviewing these people because the truth of the matter is I want to move in all these realms, and I know that you want to move in all these realms and that’s why you’re listening to our broadcast.
So even though I wrote a song as an unsaved Jewish man “There Must Be Something More,” that’s my song today “There Must Be Something More.” You know what it’s not a desperation of I hope, it’s a knowing. I know there’s something more and I’m not going to be satisfied until I reach into that invisible realm and pull out that something more. I want as many of you as possible to be able to reach into that invisible realm with me and pull out all that God has. Let’s face it we have one life we want it to count for eternity.
Well I remember searching for that something more. I left my wife and my daughter, now we’re talking about over 30 years ago. I went searching for happiness, oh I had a college degree, I had a good job Account Executive at Merrill Lynch, but I was unhappy. The only problem was I didn’t know what would bring me happiness. So I went searching but I went searching in all the wrong places. I got involved in the New Age, it was called the Occult back then. As a result of that, make a long story short I’m going to offer my testimony book “There Must Be Something More” you can read the full story. To make a long story short, when I reached the end of my rope, when I reached the point where death looked much better to me than life; and I have to tell you as young child the greatest fear I had was death, to cease to exist, that’s what I believed would happen. I’ll tell you what, ceasing to exist, of course now I know it’s going to hell that’s even… you know it doesn’t even compare. Going to hell or ceasing to exist at that point in my life looked better than life and I pretty much through in the towel. I prayed not a classic Billy Graham prayer, I prayed a heartfelt prayer because some Christian friends had said “Sid read your own scriptures, you’re an abomination to God.” I said “Wait a second, I see Catholic nuns, I see ministers, I see Jewish people all in the New Age. How could this be an abomination to God?” They read to me from Deuteronomy the 18th chapter, I think you ought to read that because this is what you see on television every night. By the way what you see you become, what you eat you become.
Here’s what the word of God Deuteronomy 18:9 says:
When you come into the land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you.
When I read that plus a number of other circumstances that was happening in my life at that point I knew there was something very evil about what I was involved in, but I didn’t know how to get out. The truth of the matter is, no rabbi, no psychiatrist could of helped me. Unfortunately most ministers couldn’t of helped me. I’m hearing voices there’s something evil inside of me get it out. I’ve ended up in a mental institution my whole life they would have given me drugs that would have made me a zombie. I know I had an aunt like that.
So there was nowhere to go but I prayed a two word “Jesus help!” My testimony is He was there and He helped and that was 30 years ago. Oh have I got more to tell you.
