AUDIENCE: Yes.
LaDONNA: If we’ve, if we’ve given our life to Jesus we’re not our own. That old person died with Christ and we have resurrected with Him. He is alive in us. We’re not ordinary, hallelujah! We are, c’mon, supernatural! That’s it. So the enemy cannot come into our garden unless we allow it. But he does. And then he comes, and he comes looking so smart often quoting scripture, comes right in, has a nice dialogue with us and the question “umm, did God say that?” And then it’s not far, it’s one step to actually uh, uh, God didn’t mean that. He didn’t mean it for me. He meant it for someone else, but not me. He couldn’t mean it for me. I’ve done things and, and no, I’m not worthy. I’m… No, not me, He doesn’t mean it to me. Wow! What a lie! Look what Jesus said in John 8, verse 44, He said, he’s talking to the unbelieving Jews around him, He said: “You’re of your father the devil and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning and he does not stand in truth. Because there is” Listen, “there is no truth in him.” There is no truth in him! That means he doesn’t just lie just sometimes. You understand? He can’t do anything except lie! No truth in him. When he speaks a lie he speaks from his own resources for he is a liar and the father of it. So everything that emits out of Satan is a lie. It’s a lie. Jesus came on the scene. WOW! And He announced “I am the way, the truth, and the life and whoever comes to me will not walk in darkness!” The darkness of a lie. The darkness, of, of stumbling and faltering. No, no we don’t have to be confused. We don’t have to wonder where we’re going. We don’t have to believe a lie. Jesus has declared Himself the way, the truth and the life! Hallelujah! Jesus said you will know the what? Truth. And the truth will set you free. So I want to just suggest to you that as believers if there is any area of your life that you would consider in bondage, you know those things that you just can’t shake off… those thoughts, those emotions, those memories, those attitudes, those reminders of the past… or addictions. You know, excuse me for saying this but I don’t mean to offend but I don’t like to hear Christians ever use the term “I have to have.” I have to have my coffee. I have to have my coke. I have to… What’s the difference in that than I have to have my cigarette or I have to have my shot after work or I have to… what’s the difference? If you have to have something isn’t that a bondage? See when I hear myself start to accept that “I have to”… I have to go to the gym, I have to run, I have to get in my steps today, I stop myself and adjust my terminology. I say “I want to.” I don’t have to do anything but serve the Master who has given me His life.
